Commentary On "Can A Man Be A Feminist?"

"Can A Man Be a Feminist?" -Jezebel

This article was in our last module in Theories of Masculinity. It really did catch my attention because the question was, "can a man be a feminist?" In the article, the two biggest titles mentioned were profeminist and feminist. Profeminist was portrayed as a man who isn't willing to stand up for feminist and was more passive than it was actively supporting. Some say the term 'feminist' is more suitable for women because men didn't stand up for the women's movements. However, in my opinion, I think that man doesn't need a title as long as they're standing up for women and are standing up for gender issues in general. It's a problem when one gender dismisses the problem(s) altogether and accepts how society is without acknowledging that all genders have issues and that the more genders there are involved, the more change happens in society.
