What's your type of Masculinity?
I think masculinity has different faces, whether that is fighting, having children, something pertaining to your private parts, being strong or motivation. Masculinity has transformed over time. I believe that this collage is a good ideology of how masculinity is, especially in regards to how society believes that men should act. This shows the different aspect of what society believes that masculinity is. It is expressed in the pictures that men who keep their responsibilities are real men which is why there are two pictures of men holding on to their children. Masculinity was also expressed through fighting, which is to express strength and power. Having the best-looking body also plays into masculinity, do they have a six or an eight pack and can they life someone up? There is a picture that expressed a man looking at his private parts and the word obsession written within the picture that shows that sometimes masculinity is based on the size of one’s private parts. I have numerous amounts of guy friends and when they are having a conversation is somehow always ties back to what is in their pants. Masculinity has changed over time, in some respects it is good and in some respects, it is degrading. Men being masculine should not be based on body parts whether that is body parts or private parts. I do like the aspect of men being in their child’s life though, I believe that is something that needs to be promoted more in the world.
