This article
essentially summarizes the “Men’s Rights” (heavy emphasis on the quotation marks) movement, by saying that women
should not be in charge in any way, and that feminism will bring the downfall
of society as we know it. Author Djess H. Jacques argues that because men get their
sense of masculinity from having power over others, women should allow
themselves to feel powerless for the sake of a man’s masculinity. He writes: “As men we carry a
set of principled ideas concerning what it means to be masculine. Masculinity
to many of us is often defined by one's magnitude in power or control. This
possession of power can be translated outwardly by one's financial stability,
political power, rule over family, physical strength, and heterosexual sex
activities.”
