Jay-Z’s 4:44 may be his step into feminism
As the title of the article mentions, “Jay-Z 4:44 may be his
step into feminism” and explains how Jay-z went from being considered a
hyper-masculine man to apologizing and putting his emotions into his last album.
The author goes on to say that Jay-Z’s wife Beyoncé might be more successful
than him and he does not seem to be bothered by it but it made him “evolve.” The
article mentions how Jay-Z admits that the women in life Beyoncé and their daughter
Blue have changed his perspective in life.
The music industry, especially rap artist are notorious for
rapping about sexualizing women whether these men are in a relationship or not.
Jay-Z being able to express his emotions and give an apology for his actions is
a fresh of breath air when it comes to rap music. The fact that he was able to
go from what was considered a hyper masculine man to show his respect for his
wife is definitely different than the typical rap music that is heard today.
