Bullying
has always been a problem, especially among youth. In today’s society, so much
bullying is concentrated on sexual orientation and gender. The site provided
below lists some very shocking statistics on the LGBTQ youth community and
bullying. Young gay men are often bullied the most. To be gay is outside the
masculine identity, and therefore labeled “abnormal”. Other young boys
reinforce their own masculinity by bullying and emasculating those who
different than themselves. I strongly believe there is nothing wrong with being
gay, lesbian, transgender, or anything else. The statistics are sickening and
most be put to a stop. When children no longer feel safe at school, society
should take notice.
