Responding with Aggression

This article follows a research study where a correlation between masculinity and aggression was examined. Aggression is known to be a “masculine” characteristic, and more often than not men are almost expected to act in aggressive ways as part of human nature. What I found interesting about this article was that aggression isn’t just a characteristic, but as shown here can also be a response. When men’s masculinity was in question, they responded with both aggression and violence. It seemed, at least to me, that an immediate response using aggression was a “quick fix” to regain control of one’s masculinity when it was discredited.
