Men and mental health are two phrases that are not commonly mentioned together. Hegemonic masculinity expects men to be strong sources of power and dominance, which no sense of weakness. Mental health issues are most commonly seen as a women's issue, and thus seen as a weakness that men should have no part of. In the article Haig reflects on the book and gives advice to other men that may be struggling with the same things.
