These
are the stereotypes I grew up with. Because I am female I had to abide by these
stereotypical traits or I was deemed strong. In 1970 "strong" and
female were not synonymous. I am aggressive, independent, can think for
myself, like to travel emotionally robust, laugh and I do not cry. At the same
time, I portray several masculine gender stereotypes: aggressive, independent,
not easily influenced, a leader, active, not easily hurt emotionally, tough and
strong, logical, and blunt. What does that say about me and my gender?
