Same-Sex Domestic Violence

This article contains personal stories of same-sex relationships that involved abuse.  The article discusses how domestic violence victims within same-sex couples stay silent due to the stigma of creating problems within their community.  They also discuss the lack of statistics that are involved in the prevalence of same-sex intimate partner violence, rape and stalking.  Many times police may not believe them or believe that women cannot be violent within relationships.   The article also discusses the lack of resources for many LGBTQ victims and the problems that can arise.  Because of being same-sex there are times when an abuser my find a way to get access to the victim due to the lack of screening some shelters provide.
