I found this article interesting because it discusses research that has been conducted on how early boys are introduced to the idea of masculinity. I found it shocking, because it starts in infancy when the infant does not understand any concepts of sex or gender. All infants have the same needs, to feel love, and comfort. Studies show that parents do not treat their boys and girls the same, even though they say they do not. Boys internalize the idea of masculinity between the ages of 3 to 5 years of age. "The cliche about men not being in touch with their emotions says nothing about inherent markers of maleness." Terry Real said that the "process of disconnecting boys from their "feminine"--or more accurately, "human"--emotional selves is deeply harmful." Men have "fragile male egos" because it is difficult for them to consistently be masculine or attempt to be masculine. "What we do to little boys, turns emotionally whole little boys into emotionally debilitated adult men."
Masculinity is Killing Men...

This is a true article, everyone wants to be tough. We no longer have the men that can be in tune with our sensitive side without being called Gay. So sad.
